ANTICO FRANTOIO SAS
CANTINA MURGIA LAMANNO

OUR STORY
A passion handed down over time.
The company was founded in 2000 in Sambuca di Sicilia with the taking over of the vineyards and olive groves that grandfather Nicolò donated to the younger generation.
From the meeting between Antonella, of Sardinian origin, and Salvatore, a Sicilian, the new business took shape, combining a passion for the land and genuine products. During the first few years, they dedicated themselves to the oil mill and the production of extra virgin olive oil extracted exclusively from their own land and that of the Sambucese area, the latter being particularly suited to agricultural production.
Eleven years later, oil production has been joined by wine production through the creation of a winery that uses the most innovative winemaking techniques, from the soft press to winemakers and tanks, all strictly temperature-controlled.
Antonella and Salvatore, keepers of tradition, have passed on their passion for the land, oil and wine to their two sons, Nicola and Sofia. The new generation is engaged not only in manual labor in the vineyards and olive groves, but also in the business and social media side.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Insular and Mediterranean. Our identity, our soul that is divided between the two islands, Sicily and Sardinia, is rooted in the authenticity of the fruits of the earth. The love for the flavors and smells of the past is fulfilled by the choice of planting exclusively native vineyards and olive groves, so that the soil can best express its qualities and restore its complexity and originality. Our story speaks of a return to the land, agriculture and genuine products.
SUSTAINABILITY
Preserving the land, especially in Sicily where drought is an increasing threat, is crucial to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production, particularly in the wine and olive oil sector. The climate crisis is altering natural cycles, reducing water resources and putting soil fertility at risk, making it essential to adopt responsible agricultural practices.
In this context, our choice to adopt organic and sustainable farming takes on a crucial role. Efficient management of water resources, through drip irrigation systems and rainwater harvesting, helps counter the effects of drought. In addition, reusing production waste as natural fertilizer not only enriches the soil without resorting to chemicals, but also helps maintain its biological balance.
The installation of a photovoltaic system, which covers 40 percent of our energy needs, reduces dependence on nonrenewable sources and minimizes the environmental impact of our activity. These choices are not only an ethical commitment, but represent a model of conscious land management, proving how tradition can coexist with innovation to meet environmental challenges.
As the climate crisis manifests itself in increasingly extreme events, preserving the land means protecting the future of agriculture and the communities that depend on it, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of iconic Sicilian products such as wine and olive oil.
